Integrated health system Essentia Health (Duluth, Minn.) is making progress on a replacement hospital in Duluth, according to the website kdal610.com . Construction of Vision Northland hospital is now 96 percent complete and is expected to be completed this summer. The new facility will replace the existing St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth. Willapa Harbor Hospital Plans $65M Replacement Hospital In Washington State

Willapa Harbor Hospital (South Bend, Wash.) is planning to build a $65 million replacement facility in Raymond, Wash., according to the website thedailyworld.com . Situated on 20 acres, the 56,000-square-foot hospital will be larger than the existing facility to meet increased demand for services, including emergency room beds. Approximately $45 million of the projected cost of the will come from U.S. Department of Agriculture loan financing, according to the website article. Construction is slated to begin in 2025. Inspira Health Marks Construction Milestone On $71M Facility

Inspira Health (Mullica Hill, N.J.) topped off its $71 million project in Woodbury, N.J. The 24,900-square-foot facility will include a 19-bed freestanding emergency department (ED) and a 21,500-square-foot 20-bed inpatient behavioral health center. An emergency medical services station is also planned. Construction on the project is expected to be completed in the first quarter 2024. Wheatland Memorial Hospital To Build New Critical Access Hospital

Wheatland Memorial Healthcare (Harlowton, Mont.) plans to build a new 38,080-square-foot critical access hospital in Harlowton, according to the website ktvq.com . The new facility is slated to open in December 2024. The healthcare organization recently received a $19 million grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) for construction. Wheatland Memorial also plans to launch a $1 million fundraising campaign to secure the final funds to build the new clinic. The project team will include A&E Design (designer; Billings, Mont.). Sacré-Coeur-de-Montréal Hospital Sacré-Coeur-de-Montréal Hospital is one of Montréal’s largest teaching hospitals, affiliated with the Université de Montréal . Built in 1927 as a sanitorium treating tuberculosis patients, the hospital includes general, emergency, and specialized medicine to support more than 300,00 patients annually. Thanks to major government investments, the hospital commissioned an expansion to modernize the nearly 100-year-old building. The goal is to better reflect the hospital’s vision to become a leading research center in traumatology for patients and researchers. The new four-story addition comprises a 26-bed maternity ward, a new endoscopy day clinic, a medical device reprocessing unit, and new research and teaching labs. Spartanburg Regional Health System (Spartanburg, S.C.) is planning a $55 million replacement hospital for its Union Medical Center , in Union, S.C., according to the website postandcourier.com . Situated on 48 acres, the 99,600-square-foot facility will include primary, emergency, outpatient, and inpatient care as well as imaging, pharmacy, laboratory, infusion, and mammography services. 2022 Healthcare Environment Awards Winners

The Center for Health Design , in partnership with Healthcare Design magazine, produces the annual Healthcare Environment Awards. The program celebrates designs that improve safety and outcomes, enhance experiences, and increase organizational efficiency. Entries are submitted in a range of facility categories including acute care, ambulatory care, long-term/assisted living, conceptual design, alternative setting, and student design work.
