Encompass Health, Piedmont To Add Rehabilitation Hospital In Northeast

Encompass Health Corp. (Birmingham, Ala.), an owner and operator of rehabilitation hospitals, and nonprofit community health system Piedmont (Atlanta) are partnering to build a 50-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Johnston, R.I.

The project, expected to open in 2024, is Encompass Health’s first hospital in Rhode Island.

The hospital will feature all-private patient rooms, a spacious therapy gym, activities of daily living suite, cafeteria, pharmacy, and therapy courtyard.

Treatments will address a range of illnesses and injuries, including strokes and other neurological disorders, brain and spinal cord injuries, amputations, and complex orthopedic conditions, as well as physical, occupational. and speech therapies.
