Flad Architects Adds To Healthcare Team

National planning and design firm Flad Architects (Madison, Wis.) has hired Kurt Spiering as director of strategic innovation in the firm’s healthcare practice.

Spiering will focus on strategic planning and predesign services, including visioning, master planning, and strategic programming.

He is a member of Healthcare Design’s Editorial Advisory Board.

Expansion of Sharp Rees-Stealy Otay Ranch Medical Center Underway

Sharp Rees-Stealy Otay Ranch Medical Center in San Diego has completed the first phase of a $86 million multiphase expansion. Opened in December 2023, the project included a new four-level parking garage with capacity for 610 vehicles. The next phase will add a two-story medical office building (MOB) with an urgent care center, advanced imaging technology, and expanded services.
