St. Jude Children’s Adds Family Respite Space In Memphis, Tenn.

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital plans to open the Family Commons respite space at its St. Jude Patient Care Center in Memphis, Tenn., in early February, according to the website fastcompany.com.

Situated on the second floor, the 45,000-square-foot respite space includes pre-K to high school classroom spaces, reading alcoves, resting nooks, recording studio, art room, and indoor and outdoor play areas.

The project was built in collaboration with global biopharmaceutical company AbbVie.

The project team includes ANF Architects (architect; Memphis), ICrave (interior designer; New York), Evans Taylor Foster Childress Architects (architect, Memphis), and IDEO (interior environment designer, San Francisco).
