UC Davis Health Opens Ernest E. Tschannen Eye Institute Building In California, Expanded Ambulatory Care Center

UC Davis Health (Sacramento, Calif.) celebrated the opening of the Ernest E. Tschannen Eye Institute Building and expansion of the ambulatory care center, part of the Eye Institute in Sacramento.

The building consolidates all of UC Davis Health Eye Center’s services, including optometry, ophthalmology, clinical research, and training in one location.

The 78,500-square-foot project comprises 64,160 square feet for the eye center and one floor of clinics for the expanded ambulatory care center. The third floor houses the Division of Pain Medicine, including clinic exam rooms and procedure rooms.

Amenity spaces include an optical shop, outdoor terrace, and exterior promenade with artwork, wall seating, and lighting, connected to the parking structure.

The Ernest E. Tschannen Eye Institute Building is currently targeting LEED Gold certification.
