Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas Breaks Ground On Lusardi Tower And Lusardi Pulmonary Institute

Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas in Encinitas, Calif., broke ground on a $263 million acute care Lusardi Tower and the Lusardi Pulmonary Institute. (For more on Scripps Health, go here.)

The new three-story tower will house 64 private inpatient rooms, 36 private medical/surgical beds, 16 intensive care unit beds, and multiple operating rooms, as well as the Lusardi Pulmonary Institute, which provides inpatient and outpatient care.

The 224,000-square-foot project is expected to open by the end of 2025.

The tower and pulmonary institute are named after philanthropists Warner and Debbie Lusardi, who helped fund the new building with a $25 million gift.
