MD Anderson Cancer Center Plans New Hospital At University Of Texas At Austin

MD Anderson Cancer Center (Houston) is opening a new hospital at the University of Texas at Austin in Austin, Texas, according to the website houstonchronicle.com.

The new hospital will house 156 inpatient beds and 250 outpatient exam rooms for breast cancer, lymphoma, and colorectal cancer treatment.

As part of the $2.5 billion project, the university’s former basketball arena will be demolished in fall 2024 to make way for the new healthcare facility.

Construction on the hospital is slated to begin in 2026.
