Harlem Public Health Lab Tops Out In New York

Nonprofit New York City Economic Development Corporation (New York) and the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (New York) celebrated the topping out of the Public Health Lab adjacent to the campus of Harlem Hospital, a teaching hospital, in New York.

The 10-story, 240,000-squarhttps://https://ift.tt/6ZhwWPX project includes a training lab for students from Hunter College (New York) and fellows from Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (New York), an auditorium for community use, and Harlem Express, an outpatient facility that offers same-day sexually transmitted infections (STI) test services.

The building design features a glass, cubic laboratory rising from a three-story masonry podium. The podium houses support and administrative functions and has a partial green roof.

The project team comprises Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (designer; Chicago) and Skanska (general contractor; New York).

The Public Health Lab is expected to be completed is 2025.
