Trident Health System’s Summerville Medical Center To Expand In South Carolina

Summerville Medical Center (Summerville, S.C.) broke ground on a $66.8 million expansion project that will increase its inpatient bed count, according to the website charlestonbusiness.com.

The medical center, which is part of Trident Health System (Charleston, S.C.), is adding 64,000 square feet and 56 beds, including 30 private medical/surgical beds on the existing third floor and 14 intensive care unit beds and 12 progressive care unit beds on the new fourth floor.

A new fifth floor will house shell space for future expansion.

Construction is expected to be completed in 2025, according to the article.
